How to Bring your Ideas to Life

0

How many times have you sat around friends either at work, home or even a college campus and someone has remarked “That’s a great idea!”

It has happened with all of us at some point in our lives. Some of us have tried implementing the idea, some of us have simply shrugged it off, yet some of us continue to accept challenges that have come along the way, in hopes that our idea will do wonders for society and humanity at large.

Yet, most of us, get dissuaded somewhere along the way and just drop it. We either become dejected due to failure or we lack the motivation to move on. But let us not forget that, it took almost 80 years after the first attempt by Humphry Davis in 1802, that Thomas Edison finally cracked (figuratively of course) the incandescent light bulb.

My Idea Possible

So, if we want our ideas come to fruition there are some ways in which we can motivate ourselves to accept challenges that come along the way when trying to bring our ideas to life

BRAINSTORM

Generally people are sceptical about sharing/brainstorming their ideas with others in fear that they may steal their idea. Sometimes we are also shy in fear of mockery or rejection. Well working on someone else’s idea is not that easy. So, nine out of ten times, it is always better to discuss with your close friends, family and experts in the field. Not only will you get sound advice regarding your pursuit but also direction on how to go about it. Sometimes such discussions may also bring to light the futility of your current idea and yet give birth to a better one. So don’t hesitate, brainstorm!

GATHER NECESSARY RESOURCES

This would mean; to gather knowledge, expert guidance, material and monetary resources and the most important resource, networking. Networking with likeminded people is all encompassing and can provide the necessary impetus required for you to give it a head start.

EXECUTION

Once you have gathered your resources, execution is the next step. While executing it is important to have focus. And focus comes with proper time management. Avoid unnecessary association with people in person or social media, maintain a routine and deter away from nay-sayers.

PERSEVERANCE

It is said “perseverance is the hard work you do, when you are tired from the hard work you have already done.” Success is a by-product of a great idea coupled with total commitment towards achieving your goal. There might be a lot of challenges and even failures along the way, but remind yourself to allow these to become the stepping stones of learning and moving forward. Don’t let failures discourage your morale. Rather anticipate them as a part of your plan and prepare your mind that “come what may, I will do it.”

GRATITUDE

When you finally have that Eureka moment where your idea comes to fruition and you are climbing that ladder of success, don’t forget to express your gratitude to those who have helped you along the way. Gratitude keeps you grounded and strengthens your social ties which are important to keep you afloat amidst stiff competition that one faces when they become successful.

Idea

The youth today has the most favourable circumstances to express their ideas through social media and platforms. However, with favourable circumstances comes the baggage of disturbances such as inability to cope with failures, stress and hopelessness. However, if they want to succeed, they must invite; the lessons that come with failures, the focus that stress can bring and the determination to turn a hopeless situation into one full of hope. Only then will they be able to bring their ideas to life.
