Upcoming Hot Sedan cars in India (2016)

The preference of Indian market has shifted a lot towards crossovers and hatchbacks but there are still a lot of people who love to be in a sedan. Check out the 5 new hot sedans coming to India this year.

Hyundai Elantra


All new Elantra will land in India this year. The new Elantra will be longer and wider and will look nothing like the current Elantra. Hyundai has made the new version a lot sharper with stronger creases on the body and it looks very youthful.

The car gets hexagonal front grille, sweptback headlamps, Daytime Running Lamps on the lower front bumper. The rear also gets new design and new tail lamps.

Inside, the car gets 7-inch touch-sensitive infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Google Auto. Elantra will be powered by 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines that come with the current model.

Skoda Rapid

The new Skoda Rapid has been caught testing quite a few times on Indian road and  the car will be launched during the festive season. The new Rapid will get new grille, redesigned front bumper, horizontal fog lamps, smoked headlamps among many other new features.

The rear gets minor changes with new tail lamps and a new chrome stripe.

The car will be powered by 1.6-litre petrol engine  and 1.5-litre diesel engine. Both the engines will produce 103 Bhp of maximum power. The Rapid will be launched during Diwali this year.

Honda Accord

The Accord is coming back and this time, Honda is bringing a hybrid version of the car. The all-new Accord was showcased during the Auto Expo and the new car gets similar family design of the modern Honda cars. The Accord will come with a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine. The car will produce a maximum of 196 Bhp with the help of hybrid system. The car will take on the Toyota Camry and will be launched by the end of this year.

Tata Tiago became a huge hit in the market. The car is enjoying long waiting periods and has been selling like hot cakes. Now based on the Tiago hatchback, Tata is planning to launch a sedan this year. The sub 4-metre sedan will feature similar equipment like the Tiago and will undercut the cars like DZire, Xcent in terms of price. The car will be powered by a 1.2-litre Revotron three-cylinder petrol engine that produces a maximum of 85PS while the diesel engine will be a 1.05-litre 70 PS producing unit.

Audi A4

The new Audi A4 is coming soon. This car is based on the new MLB Evo platform. The new A4 looks much sharper and the car will be larger, lighter and will be quicker than the current version. It will be powered by a new 1.4-litre TSI turbocharged engine, and 2-litre turbo diesel engine. The car may also get the 2.0-litre petrol engine for the enthusiasts. A 7-speed DSD dual clutch transmission will be standard.
