He was praised by whole state. He ruled telugu cinema industry for more than 2 decades. He inaugurated several welfare societies like blood bank and eye bank. He's so called as a mega star of telugu movie industry who’s name is Mr. Chiranjivee. After his announcement on his political entry in tirupati, surveys assured that this star is going to hit the golden figure. But fortune or conspiracy caused him to lose in recent election. He tried to come back into cinema field for his 150th movie, but Smt Sonia Gandhi invited him and asked him to merge his party with congress.

Why does an actor need to plunge into the field of politics? They are all interested in making money for themselves and they are least bothered about the upliftment of the society and the country as a whole. They just try to cook their bread because of their name and fame. Actors job is to do acting on the screen I do not think that they are capable enough to run the government. And as far as Sonia Gandhi is concerned she is more into collecting more and more famous people in her party to gain the votes.

@economist: I think you are absolutely right. These actors should concentrate on their work rather then joining politics and making money for them. They best suit to their own field. There are not only south indian actors but actors from Bollywood who have lived their span of life as an actor and left with nothing to do are plunging into the politics considering it as a side business. This is a complete wrong notion and they should not be doing this.

It is not the issue with the south indian actors even if you see actors annd actresses of bollywood you will come to know that there are retired actors like dharmendra, hema mailini, govinda who have plunged into the political field but when they have not become or got any success they again entered into the filmy industry. That clearly indicates that they are more into making money and power rather than going for the beneficial program for the people.

Yes, actors usually come in to politics only to make money. But if we look in to the past, the great film stars like NTR ruled Andra Pradesh politics for many years and MGR ruled tamil nadu for many years. But now a days people are very educated and they want a real hero to work for them, which is definitely not the job of any actor. You have to be real not reel while dealing with people.
