A World famous heritage destination of India is the Ajanta & Ellora,situated near the city of Aurangabad in Maharashtra. Ajanta and Ellora are declared as World Heritage by the UNESCO and these caves are famous for the sculptures curved inside the caves and the paintings. Ajanta caves are famous for beautiful paintings and sculptures that portrays the stories of Jatakas. The Ellora is a cluster of of 34 caves and these caves depicts the history of Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. These caves comprises of 12 Buddhist, 17 Hindu and 5 Jain caves. The Ajanta-Ellora Festival which is a tribute to the caves for their contribution to Indian Heritage and this attracts a huge crowd to the city of Aurangabad.
