Recently a court in Haryana issued a warrant against an Akahtakht jaththedaar priest. He is the first ever Sikh high priest who is issued a nonbailable warrant. The main Sikh religious organization Akaltakht has warned the government against his arrest.

Akaltakht exercises power: Recently the highest seat of Sikhism declared the chief of Sachakhand Academy a Tankhaiya. He is alleged to have made some comments insulting Sikhism in a Canada based Radio “Sher-e-Punjab”. Tankhaiya in short means punshipment for breaking Sikh religious rituals.
