Badrinath is one of the most popular religious destinations of India and is one of the 4 major Dhams, situated along the River Alaknanda. Badrinath is one of the ancient holy cities located at an altitude of 3133 meters above sea level in the Chamoli district of Garhwal region in the State of Uttarakhand. Apart from being a religious destination, the beauty of the place makes its visitors spell bound. The place has several mythological stories and it is believed that the Pandavas reached heaven by passing through this holy place. The Badrinath temple, which is dedicated to Lord Badrinarayan, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, is the major attraction of this place. Mana gaon is the border village of India and Tibet is situated here. Another major attraction of the place is the origin of the River Saraswati, which is not visible anywhere as it merges with other rivers. The place also offers adventure activities like trekking and mountaineering that fascinates the adventure lovers.
