Bageshwar is a well known pilgrimage destination of Uttarakhand. The place is situated in the Bageshwar district and lies at an altitude of 1004 meters. The city being situated in the hills, offers majestic beauty of the nature and is situated in the confluence of three rivers Saryu, Bhagirathi and Gomti. The town has mythological tales attached to it and it is believed that the town got blessings of Lord Shiva and this makes it a place of religious importance. Bagnath Temple, Durga Temple, Ganga Mai Temple, Bhairav Temple, Hanuman Temple, Vaneshwar Temple, Kalikka Temple, Thingal Bhairav Temple are some of the temples of Bageshwar that attracts the tourists.
