Barmer is a small town in Rajasthan. Barmer is situated in the Thar desert and due to adverse desert climate it is a barren land. The town is famous for handicrafts and Rajasthani embroidery. It is an ancient town and this is proved from the history of India. Barmer is inhabited by the tribal people and is famous for wood carving, pottery, carpets, intricate embroidery work, block printed fabrics and multi-hued traditional costumes. The town is well-known for folk music and dance and offers a true experience of desert tour in India.
