The status of the village; Bibipur, Haryana has drastically been changed since the day it’s new Sarpanch has been appointed. Sunil Jaglan, an MSc Degree holder was appointed as the Sarpanch of the village Bibipur in Haryana in 2010 since then the village has witnessed a journey of affirmative changes. The most wonderful change that has come into the village is the awareness among its people about eradicating female foeticide. The villagers are given tremendous awareness and knowledge about the heinous act of female foeticide and also about the importance of Women’s roles in the life. A mahapanchayat was organised in the village where thousands of women were called even from the nearby villages to sensitize and to talk about the issue of female foeticide. Female were so affirmed and interactive that they demanded the panchayat for an amendment in the Indian Penal Code to book the record the culprits of female foeticide with the charges of murder. Bibipur panchayat has also established women focused library where over 900 books have been kept based only on Indian Women. Bibipur village and its people have certainly realized that importance of women that is why they want the Sarpanch Sunil Jaglan as the permanent mayor of the village.
