Bihar-Sharif is a small town in the Nalanda district of Bihar and is situated in the Hiranya Prabhat Parvat, on the bank of River Panchanan. The town has a rich historical pas as it was the capital of the Pala dynasty during the 10th century. The town got its name for the presence of numerous Muslim tombs and this makes this place a major pilgrimage destination for the Muslims. The soil of this town is fertile as rivers Dhoba, Panchanan and Goithva flows through the town and makes the soil fit for agriculture. The town is visited by the tourists to witness the Islamic architecture, which is present in the town. The tomb of Makhdum Shah Sharif-ud-din is a major attraction of the hamlet, along with many other tombs.
