Bipin Chandra Pal was among the noted revolutionaries of India and was a social reformer. His contribution towards India is remarkable. He was a patriot in the true sense and he not only aspired for a nation free from British Rule but also for a nation free from social evils. He was born on 7 November 1858, in village Poil in the District of Sylhet, which is now in Bangladesh. His first step towards social reformation in India was by marrying a widow. He gave his consent to the Age of Consent Bill of 1891. He started several publications to promote his protest against British rule in India. Although he acknowledged the positive effect of the British rule, simultaneously he supported India's federal thoughts. He fought against the social evils and caste system that prevailed in India during that time and was called as Father of Revolutionary and Mightiest Prophet of Nationalism by Aurobindo. He was one of the three prominent leaders Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Lala Lajpat Rai and the trio was popularly known as “Lal-Bal-Pal”. The trio separated themselves from the Indian National Congress and started a separate wing of revolutionaries. They together carried out several revolutionary activities against the British Rule. He died in the year 1932.
