Bodhgaya is a holy Buddhist pilgrimage destination, situated in the State of Bihar on the banks of the river Niranjana. It is a small town and it is believed that in this place Lord Buddha got enlightenment and this increases the importance of Buddhist tourism. Buddha Jayanti is an important festival of the town which is celebrated with grandeur and fervor. Nyingma Monlam Chenmo is another festival celebrated here during the month of January and the highlight of the festival is Dalai Lama's visit. The Buddhist sculptures, monuments and Monasteries are the major tourist attractions of the place.
