Channarayapatna is pilgrimage destination of Karnataka and is renowned for featuring ancient temples. The place has historical importance along with being a popular pilgrimage destination of South India. The people from different parts of the nation visits Channarayapatna to witness the architecture of the ancient temples built by the Hoysala dynasty. However, the place was also under the rule of the Chola Dynasty. Chandramouleshwara Temple, Kotebaagilu Ganapati Temple and Chennakesava Temple are the major attraction of the place.
