Dhanushkodi is a hamlet situated in the juncture of Bay of Bengal, called by the name of Mahodadhi and the Indian Ocean known as Ratnakar in the state of Tamil Nadu. The hamlet falls near the sacred town of Rameshwara and is famous for the Adam's bridge. This bridge is well known as Ram Sethu, which was believed to be built by Lord Ram to reach Lanka, now Sri Lanka, to rescue his wife Sita. The bridge is built of limestone and links India with Sri Lanka. This bridge is a major attraction of this town and many tourists from around the World visits this town to witness the bridge. The place was once a thriving pilgrimage destination but got destroyed by cyclone, however, this place still managed to stand strong and attract a lot of pilgrims as well as other tourists.
