Pregnant woman should take a proper care of her diet and execute a rich and a healthy diet plan on routine basis. Diet is an important part of any pregnant lady as it's effects reflects on the baby's growth. A healthy diet of any pregnant woman includes, sprouts, beans, green vegetables, fruits and lots of fiber products. Healthy diet should be given to the pregnant lady to avoid the problem of constipation, crams, swelling and other issues. Normally, the body weight should increase up to 8 to 10 kgs when you are pregnant. If it goes up means you are gaining all weight and that would result in operation. So always take a great care of your diet plans.

Many women take a diet for 2 people as they think that they are now two not just one. But this is simply a myth. Pregnant women should take normal diet that they used to take before pregnancy. It is not good to increase your diet just because you are pregnant. Ladies who are pregnant should go for fresh fruits, vegetables and juices when they feel hungry and eat as they used to. Always follow a strict and healthy diet plan at the time of pregnancy.

yes i agree that diet plan for pregnant women is an important issue which needs to be taken care of. Without a healthy diet, women cannot nurture the baby well and if baby doesn't receive adequate nutrition from the mother, there could be chances of getting a malformed baby due to malnutrition. This may also impair the nervous system and other systems of baby's body.

@greatindia: exactly! Pregnant woman should take a special care about her diet as it is an important factor of her pregnancy and very important for baby as well. A diet full of nutrition is required by the baby to avoid any kind of malnutrition in baby. So a pregnant woman should include enough of milk, protein and nutrition for the complete and healthy development of baby.

Many Indian Women Receive No Care During Pregnancies. National-Family-Health-Survey(NFHS) conducted for four years found out 37% of entire pregnant mothers in India weren't receiving any sort of prenatal care. Around half the illiterate Indian women received no real care during their pregnancies, whereas only 13% illiterate women was lacking prenatal care, even 42%, and 18% women in rural and urban Indian parts lacked care.
