Facebook Pages vs Facebook Groups , which one is better? Ah, that old debate. I prefer Facebook Page over Group for the following reasons:
These thoughts came up as I plan to consolidate all my writing related stuff over time to this , my Facebook Page, as distinct from my Personal Page.
- You can be more focused. I find totally unconnected random posts (incl for mobile re-charge and holiday packages) more rampant in groups.
- More importantly, anyone can add anyone to any Facebook Group, especially if it is an open Group. Without their consent! I have been added to so many that I have lost count of them. In Pages, the onus of accepting your invitation lies with the recipient. Only those who are interested will join.
- In Facebook Pages, you can join if you wish, in Groups you can quit if you wish, the onus of leaving is automatically transferred to you
- Facebook Groups score hands down in numerical terms. If I were to start a Group and add all my friends and all their friends, the number would be very impressive. But I believe a better quality of interaction takes place in Pages even though the numbers are much lower.
