The city of Hazaribagh is famous for coal mines and it is the 2nd largest producer of coal in the State of Jharkhand. The city of Hazaribagh is a planned city and developed during the British reign. The city of Hazaribagh is famous for the Hazaribagh National Park and this is the prime attraction of the city. The national park is an adobe of many wild animals which include sloth bear, tiger, chital, nilgai, wild boar, sambar, panther, etc. Some of the major attractions of this place include The Narsigsthan Temple, The Surajkund, Panchmandir, Canary Hill, Hazaribagh Lake, Barso Pani, Silwar, Megaliths of Hazaribagh and Rajrappa.
