Hemkun is a major pilgrimage destination for Hindus and Sikhs. It is situated in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand and is one of the coveted destinations for the adventure enthusiast as it offers several opportunities for trekking and mountaineering. The place is famous for snow-capped mountain and is also known for its captivating, compelling and enthralling beauty of the nature. The place comprises of seven peaks which enhances the beauty of the place. Hemkund is situated at an altitude of 4329 m above the sea level and has a cold climate. Gurudwara Hemkund Sahib, Nanda Devi National Park, The Gobindham, Lakshman temple, Kagbhusandi Tal and Vasudhara Falls are some of the major attraction of the place.The view of Nanda Devi, Mana Parvat, Kamet and Dunagiri ranges of the great Himalayas attracts a lot of tourists.
