Hospet is known as the Steel City as large iron ore and steel production is done here. The town is situated in the State of Karnataka and is the gateway to the World Heritage destination Hampi. The town of Hospet has a historical background related to it which can be witnessed with the presence of some historical monuments. The town is well known for the ancient Tungabhadra Dam built on the river Tungabhdra by the Vijayanagara king, Krishna Deva Raya. This attracts a lot of tourists in and around the town. Chitradurga Fort, Queen's Bath, chyutraya Temple, Lotus Mahal, Royal Residence and The Archaeological Museum are some of the tourists attractions of the town apart from the ancient dam.
