Howrah is a popular city of West Bengal, situated on the bank of the River Hoogly. The city is connected to the capital city Kolkata by four bridges – the Vivekananda Setu, Rabindra Setu (Howrah Bridge), the Vidyasagar Setu and the Nivedita Setu built over the holy river Ganges. The city attracts a lot of tourist and is a significant city since ancient times. Howrah is renowned for the Howrah bridge and station and people visiting West Bengal makes it a point to visit the city as it offers a lot of places that are of tourist interest apart from the Howrah bridge. Belur Math, Indian Botanical Garden that has a 250 years old great Banyan Tree, Santragachi Jheel (lake) etc are some of the tourist attractions.
