HTC has launched its new smartphone Desire 600, which comes with a price tag of Rs. 26,890/-. This phone is a Dual-SIM phone that comes with a simple look. It has a slim built and houses a 4.5-inch Super LCD2 display. There are two microSIM slots under the hood and a hot-swap microSD card slot for memory expansion. This Smartphone comes with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and the beautiful Sense 5 skin and comes bundled with a whole mess of browser shortcuts in the app drawer, which makes it little annoying. The interface is quick but certain animations stutter especially when you hit the home button. The display has good brightness and sunlight legibility is not bad either. The colours are quite vibrant as well, which is good for movies and games. The Desire 600 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 MSM8625Q running at 1.2GHz. This is a quad-core chip based on ARM’s Cortex-A5 architecture. Despite the 1GB of RAM, this phone manages up to 720p video while 1080p playback struggles badly.

The 600 features Boom Sound similar to the One which is the highlight of this phone. The stock video player supports MKV and AV and comes with 8GB of onboard memory out of which 4.6GB is usable. It is a tri-band GSM and single-band 3G handset. Only one of the SIM supports 3G however but both can be active at the same time. The Desire 600 comes bundled with the entire suite of Google apps as well as social apps like Facebook and Twitter. It also has some productivity apps like Polaris Office, Notes, Tasks, PDF Viewer and Dropbox. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, A-GPS and GLONASS. The 8 MP camera on the rear of this mobile phone is good. The 2000mAh battery offers a talktime of up to 11.4 hrs (2G) / Up to 11.1 hrs (3G). The price seems to be a little high but the overall performance and features are good.
