Hyundai Motors India Limited has finally launched the most talked about entry-level compact sedan car, Xcent. With this new compact sedan, Hyundai has entered into the competition with its rivals Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Honda Amaze. The Xcent has nothing in common with the Accent, Hyundai's old sedan that was discontinued last year. To put it straight, this new Hyundai Xcent is targeted at Gen X or the youth. The petrol version of this vehicle has been equipped with a 1.2-litre Kappa dual VTVT (variable timing valve train) engine, which has a displacement of 1197cc. This engine is capable of generating a maximum power output of 82bhp at 6000rpm, while generating utmost torque of 114Nm at 4000rpm. For transmission, there are two options, one is the five speed manual and the other is the 4 speed automatic transmission gear box. The diesel variants are equipped with to some extent yanked 1.1-litre U2 CRDi mill with a displacement capacity of 1120cc. This engine can produce power output of 71bhp at 4000rpm and delivers a torque of 180Nm in the range of 1500 to 2750rpm. This CRDi diesel engine is coupled with a 5-speed manual gearbox and it has the ability to return 24.4 Kmpl. Both the manual and automatic versions of the petrol engines give a mileage of about 18.9 Kmpl.
