India rising against Corruption
India is a huge country with a population of over 1.2 billion and it is very difficult to trace down every single act of corruption in such a massive population. It is similar to finding a needle in a pile of hay. The anti corruption laws that prevail in India are of no use anymore. These laws are very weak in nature and the government can do nothing about it. The Jan Lokpal bill was introduced several times but was passed because it would take actions against the politicians. The new Jan Lokpal bill is just another piece of waste material which eludes every possible chance of taking any sort o action against a politician. The government needs to take drastic steps in anything can be done to stop corruption. The government needs to understand that the distance if heaven to hell is not a matter of altitude it’s a matter of attitude.
So to stop corruption at the basic stage they have to eradicate corruption from the higher levels of authority in India. Corruption has become a major problem in India and even if a corruption act is detected the guilty are not penalized nor are they imprisoned. In India corruption is the most visible act in today’s life. No one follows any rules and regulations and if caught they get away easily by bribing the corrupt officials. 90% government officials in India are corrupt. Recently protests have been started against corruption and the corrupt officials by some social workers like Baba Ramdev, Anna Hazare and more. The general people have also started to pour in their support by voicing their views against corruption. Baba Ramdev and Anna Hazare took to fasting in their protest against corruption and corrupt officials. Baba Ramdev even decided to launch his own party to contest the next general elections and kick out corrupt officials. Baba Ramdev satyagraha against corruption and Indian black money stored in foreign banks has finally put the Indian government on a back foot.
