India's Foreign Relations

In Artha Shastra, Chanakya opined, in foreign relations, your neighbor is not your friend. But the neighbor’s neighbor is always your friend".

It’s true in the modern world too. Let’s take an example: India has enmity with Pakistan. But Pakistan’s neighbor Afghanistan is our friend.

Similarly, India has enmity with China. But China’s neighbors can be our friends. By making friendship with the neighbors of our neighbors, we can give a new twist to the foreign relation of India. By developing foreign relations with the neighbors of our enemy (?) countries, we can play influential role in foreign affairs. In such a scenario our enemy nations will also think twice before taking a step against our country. No country can exist without international relations. The complexity of the new economy forces all the nations to depend on each other. If all the neighboring countries of our enemies (?) and India proceed towards progress with cooperation, they enemy will think twice before taking any action against India.

However, the world has changed a lot since the time of Chanakya. It’s the time to study and discuss the foreign relations of India in the light of our classical texts and the modern international affairs.

Let us Discuss Indian Foreign Relations here in this Thread

India is keen on developing foreign relations with quite a few potent nations. it is improving relations with russia and on the russian counterpart it is lending its technology and defence tactics to india for improving indian security and defence. india is also improving relations with sri lanka and china though there seems to be some bitterness with china.

i think it is time india should improve its foreign tie ups with other nations as india needs to make global presence. sharing various technologies and defence strategies with other nations will help india get aware of where it stands globally. india should compete with foreign nations internationally in both defence and technology.

india and its foreign counterparts are going well for the time being, but in future as india is developing it will need more and more foreign tie ups so that it can have more exchanges of ideologies and materials from other nations. for now india is relying mostly on nations like US and Russia. it should expand its frontiers to other big and small nations too

india's foreign relations are improving over the time. we need to acquire knowledge from various sectors such as economy, education, defence strategies, and trading. for all these we need to have good relations with other nations and should work on improving tie ups. india should explore other nations too by making tie ups with them as we cannot rely on only few nations.

India has a formal diplomatic relation with many nations around the world. As a 2nd most populous country as well as the world’s most populous democracy as well as recently has developed in to the rapid growing economy in the world. India has a huge history of collaborations with many countries as well as is considered as a pioneer of the developing nations in the world.

india is emerging to be a superpower internationally and under such circumstances the relations with foreign nations also need to grow. relations with russia, france, america are growing better and better both politically and economically. however india should try out other bigger and smaller nations too so as to increase its sphere of activity.
