Interest Versus Priority!

It is a well known fact of life that you should 'follow your interest' as far as your education or career or personal life is concerned. Now consider an example:-

Someone wants to become a great musician. He does not have the money for survival in the present. Providing for himself is his priority but working on his music and making that dream come true is his interest. Making his dream come true would take him time and a lot of effort.

What should his course of action be in this case?

This is a very sensible question, given today's scenario. Our generation is too frustrated with their white-collar jobs and they create this alter-ego in their imagination which defies their reality. It's too easy to say that one must leave the mainstream jobs and follow their passion. But let me put it down more practically. Nothing comes so easy, let alone passion. Plus, in most cases, passions are generally far from the mainstream occupations which means there is less scope of earning through them.

I don't want to sound too urban but hey, let's be straight. If your passion really has got no back-up plan then do something to keep it alive. If your passion cannot win your bread and butter then there's no way you're doing justice to it. In my personal opinion, one can earn from other sources while saving enough for making it big with their dream occupation.

I agree with what you are saying here. It is difficult to earn one's bread and butter. In this context, it is better to keep risk at bay if your interest is not that yielding.

It is better to keep it as a second priority giving survival the first number.

I wonder about the future considering the frustration that the present generation has because of the white-collar jobs! What will be the outcome? To what end will it go on and on?

In today’s scenario with paucity of time it is really tough to give importance on self interest than priority. Because one must be capable enough to live a contended life while persuing their interest. Although interest provokes every individual passionately for success but sometimes it becomes compulsory for them to give importance to priority.

Hence, before concluding over priorities or interest everyone must be confident enough to follow their decision for a longer period. So that life becomes easy and even they succeed in their goal.

Today everyone is a salaried person; working to meet their means of livelihood. A very rare section is found to be enjoying their part of job by following their dream goals. Since our births, we are taught to follow the words of our liking, but do you think that actually works into this mechanical world? Here, the decisions are required to be more rational and logical to cope up with the present day scenario. Although the interests, dreams, passion are the drivers for our zeal to put in all our efforts, it is not the only thing which would let you sustain in this materialistic world. Rather keep your interest alive in the shades of your mainstream job. It sounds to be a very convenient way of keeping both, interest and priority alive simultaneously.
