“Himachal Pradesh” widely known as the “Devbhoomi” i.e. the Land of Gods is known for its festivals and celebrations. The most popular among them is the Kullu Dusshera, which is being celebrated since 1960 in a very traditional manner to pay homage to Lord Raghunathji. The festival commences on Vijaydashmi with the arrival of Goddess Hidimba and continues for seven days with hundreds of other Deities.

Ganer Festival of Kullu

Other than Dusshera, Kullu is also known for its “GANER FESTIVAL” which includes three different festivals celebrated on the same day in the beginning of every year with the motive of bringing prosperity. First one being the “Festival of Horns” where the horns of Nagar King’s army ram is worshiped. “Jiru Festival” is the second festival in which the people jokingly abuse the darkness in a singing manner. Last one is “Guun Festival” where a guun is made and destroyed by the people of Naggar & Jana villages.

The Kullu in Himachal Pradesh celebrates Dusshera in its own style where they honor Lord Raghunath by worshiping and placing idols of Him. The festival lasts for about seven days starting from Vijaya dashmi and is usually celebrated in Dhalpur grounds of kullu valley which is a major tourist attraction during the time.
