Kedarnath is one of the 4 Dhams of Hindu pilgrimage, situated in the State of Uttarakhand. The journey to Kedarnath is quite painstaking but the beautiful landscape which is well defined by green hills, the Madakini River flowing all along and the water falls converts all the pain into pleasure. The view of the snow-capped mountains makes the devotees spell bound. The 14km journey from Gaurikund to the Temple can be covered on, on the back of pony, helicopter and other carriages. The temple remains closed for 6 months during the year due to immense clod and snowfall. The Temple opens for the devotees in the month of May and closes by the end of October. This temple is devoted to Lord Shiv and is one of the most popular pilgrimage destinations of India.
