Koratty Muthy’s Feast Festival is a grand festival celebrated annually celebrated at Koratty in the state of Kerala. It is a Christian festival, which is celebrated in the second week of October, dedicated to Mother Marry.

About Koratty Muthy
Korattymuthy is the locally known by the name of Hail Mary or Mother Mary of Syro-Malabar Catholic community at Koratty in Kerala State, India. Korattymuthy's Shrine is well-known for its annual feast with 'Poovankula' (a special plantain), Muttilizhayal (walking on knee) offerings. Korattymuthy is also known as Our Lady with Poovan Bananas. It is believed that the shrine was established in 1381. Koratty Muthy’s (St Mary’s) Forane church at Koratty is one of the most important Marian Pilgrim Centre in India after Velankanni. The Church is located in a beautiful, scenaric village of Koratty (Named after the church) in Thrissur district.

Celebration of Koratty Muthy’s Feast Festival
The Koratty Muthy’s Feast is an annual grand feast organized at the Koratty Muthy’s church. It is a very significant and mammoth event celebrated to honour Virgin Marry. The Festival is celebrated with grandeur accompanied by a number of rituals and is a rich and amazing ceremony attended by thousands of pilgrims from all over the world. Besides the traditional and customary rituals, there are many cultural activities and programs organized during the Feast. Even though this festival is attended by many devotees, the core attendants to the Feast includes the Ill and the Infirm, Distressed Damsels longing for their partners in life, Parents longing for children etc. The Church of Koratty Muthy is particularly popular amidst its devotees and people from all sects and castes. People from all sects and caste, irrespective of all religions participate in this annual Feast. Not only during the feast days but all through the year Church is full of devotees thronging to seek the blessings of Mother Mary.
