Both laptop and notebook serve almost the same purpose but there is a thin line of difference between the two. A laptop is equipped with a built-in optical drive where as a notebook isn't. Moreover a laptop is available in larger size when compared to notebooks and is heavier in weight. Notebook is designed to carry out all the basic functions of computing.
