Mahuli-Fort is a hill staiton and is one of popular tourist destinations of Maharashtra. It is situated in the juncture of the rivers Krishna and Yenna in the suburbs of the Thane district. The hill station is located at an altitude of 2,815 feet above the sea level. The place is known for its enthralling natural beauty and is enclosed by thick forest. It is one of the coveted destinations of adventure lovers. The place is named as Mahuli-Fort for the presence of several forts built by the rulers of this region and this depicts the rich history associated with place. Some of the great and amazing architecture of the great Maratha Dynasty can be witnessed here. The place features compelling forts and hill tops which makes it the perfect destination for trekking. The place also features some Hindu temples which attracts a lot of pilgrims in and around the place. Manas Mandir,Tansa Lake, Tansa Wildlife Sanctuary, Visveswera, Boleswera, Sangameswara and Rameswara and the Bhatsa Dam are some of the tourists spots of this hill station.
