Moodabidri is popularly known as Mudbidri, Moodbiri and Bedra, is a major Jain pilgrimage destination, situated in the state of Karnataka. It is a small town and its history dates back to 13th century AD. The place has several Jain temples built during that period and this attracts a lot of people from all over the World. The town is identified as Jain Kashi and is well-known for its rich culture and heritage. The Jain temples are built in hard granite with carved pillars. The town has several Jain temples of the ancient times as well as many temples are built in the recent times which makes it a major Jain pilgrimage destination.
