Mukteshwar is one of the most famous hill station of the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. The hill station is famous for its picturesque and is situated at an altitude of 7500 feet above sea level. The place is named after the Mukteshwar Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The place attracts a huge crowd of tourist for its mesmerizing natural beauty and the view of the Himalayan ranges adds to it. The place is covered by a dense forest which is an adobe for some rare variety of avian species and Himalayan ruby throat, white-crested laughing thrush, red-billed leothrix, and black winged kite are among a few. The hill station also hosts a few adventure activities that include rock climbing and rappelling and this makes it a favorite place for adventure lovers.
