There are five historical Thrones of the Guru called Takhts which are ruling centers for the Sikh Religion. These five Takhts are most important Places of Pilgrimage for Sikhs
Each Takht has 4 Granthi’s and 1 Head Granthi to maintain the daily activities of the Guru in the Takhat’s Gurudwara.
- Akal Takht in Amritsar , Punjab
- Takht Patna Sahib in Patna , Bihar
- Takht Damdama Sahib in Batinda , Punjab
- Takht Keshghar Sahib in Anandpur Sahib , Punjab
- Takht Sachkhand in Hazur Sahib , Nanded , Maharashtra
