Patal Bhuvaneshwar is a major pilgrimage destination of Uttarakhand and is situated in the Pithogarh District of Kumaon region. The place lies at an altitude of 1,350 metres above sea level. The place is famous for hidden pilgrim site of Lord Shiva in a cave. The significance of the place is described in several folklore and also has some mythological tales attached to it.
