Pawapuri is a major Jain pilgrimage and is situated in the Nalanda district of Bihar. The place is considered to be a holy place for the Jain as Lord Mahavir, the founder of Jain religion was cremated here. The history of the place dates back to about 2600 years. Pawapuri is famous for its rich cultural heritage. The Rajgir Dance Festival is the famous festival celebrated here, which attracts a lot of tourists from all over the World. Jal Mandir, Gaon Mandir, Samosharan temple, Digambar Jain temple, Bibi Mehetab Kumari and New Samosharan are some of the major attractions of the place.
