Peddapuram Town is a pilgrimage destination situated in the East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. The town is well known for featuring several temples and also has a rich historical background. The town was founded by Maharaja Vatsavai Pedda Pathrudu. The Jatara Carnival, which is held every year and is celebrated with huge pomp and show and this attracts a horde of tourists from all over. The town is famous for the shrine of Goddess Maridamma and a lot of devotees from in and around the place visits this temple.
