Pehowa is a prominent Hindu Pilgrimage destination of Haryana and is falls under the administration of Kurkshetra district. The town is also known as Pehewa or Pehawa and has a rich historical past. The existence of the town dates back to the 8th century A.D. and was named after was named after King Prithu. The place has mythological significance and it is believed that the last rights performed here provides salvation to the dead and hence several Hindus visit this place to perform the last rights of their relatives and to appease their ancestors by offering “Pind-daan”. The place hosts several temples that attracts the devotees from all over the nation.
