There are number of scams in the defence procurement where middlemen usually charge excessively high prices for low quality arms and equipments. Although the government blacklists the vendors and middlemen involved in such scams and corrupt practices, these continue to happen. Under such circumstances, government is looking forward for indigenisation of defence production. What do you think would be hurdles if government takes this move and how effective do you think this would be?
