Simhachalam is a prominent Hindu pilgrimage destination of Andhra Pradesh and falls in the Visakhapatnam district. The town has a rich history associated with it and was ruled by several Hindu dynasty. The place was also under the reign of Ashoka and was a part of the Kalinga district. The place features several Hindu shrines, which attracts a lot of devotees from all over the place. Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha temple is a major attraction of the place. Govindraja Swamy Temple, Lakshmi Devi Temple, Simhavalli Tayaru Temple and Lakshminarayana Swamy Temple are some of the other temples of the town.
