Congress leader and former Union minister G Venkataswamy on Tuesday caused ripples in the Indian National Congress party by asking Sonia Gandhi to resign as Congress president. Taking umbrage for sending Union Defence Minister A K Antony to invite Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi for a meeting with her, Venkataswamy said that under Sonia’s leadership the Congress will not win the next elections in the country.

“Sonia should go. The leadership should be taken over by senior and dedicated Congressmen. The party is in disarray at present. Allegations of corruption and inefficiency are growing every day. The situation in the party has come to such a stage that the Congress president has to send a senior minister to invite Chiranjeevi. Does he have a magic potion to solve the party problems in Andhra Pradesh?” Venkataswamy asked.

I do agree with you as a Honest politician Sonia need to step down over the allegation of corruption but no-one wants to leave the comfort which they have gained and are ready to do anything to stay there for longer period.
 
in my view if sonia gandhi is unable to prove herself to the people she should not stand in that place and continue as the president of the party. Either it must be that she proves herself and does something big for the nation and the party or else step down as the president and give the place to someone better.
 
Sonia Gandhi should actually resign from the post as she does not deserve to be in the authority. But what about those corrupted politicians that are already in the picture? She is at least can be molded but cannot be changed. It is due to other politicians that she has to behave like that. SHe is unable to make any good policy that will change the face of the nation. Sad :(
 
sonia gandhi is merely into politics because she enjoys the gandhi name tag. i dont see any leadership qualities in her. she never takes any decisions openly. nor does she come into public openly to address the public. its always reading out a paper written in english. she does not deserve the place of presidency in congress party
 
SOnia Gandhi is taking advantage of the Gandhi name and the family itself. She should resign from the post as she is unable to prove herself as a minister or the member of the party. She is simply following the other leaders viewpoint and to please them. It is a high time that she should resign and let innovation prosper.
 
yes i think it is time we move on to new things and try them. this is very unjust that someone is being chosen to be president of part for the reason that she has the popular name. India needs people who are efficient and who can do something for the nation and not people who barely make it to the top because of familial help or because they have a name tag.
 
The views and ideas of the old people are becoming very saturated in the system. The indian political system needs a big change in its policies, bills, amendments and other things. The change should be made for the benefits of the people. Sonia Gandhi should resign and give chance to young and enthusiastic people to run the government. This is a high time that she should think about handling over the power to his Son Rahul Gandhi!
