Sports play a meaningful role in the life of an individual and particularly for the children of adolescence and teenage, since it promotes a discipline in their lives. Sports has got many physical advantages, it provides them fitness, strategies for their daily routines, cultivates physical strength and stamina and also provides a team spirit. But in the last couple of years the youth seems to be going little far away from the sports activities and rather tend to be indulged in more of non-physical activities. The youth of today is becoming a techno-savvy and gadget freak! A major portion of their time consumed by those gadgets that provide them mind freaking games, apps and social media amenities. This trend has somewhere ceased the relevance of sports in their lives. They just do not seem to be interested in participating in the physical activities/sports and eventually their physical and mental health is getting immensely affected. Perhaps it is only the schools where they feel compelled to take part in sports otherwise there also they search for excuses to avoid those sport activities.

Sports is one of an important stream where the youth can set pretty impressive examples, they are energetic and full of spirit and they should channelize this enthusiasm in sports. The youth cannot forget and neglect the remarkable contributions of the great sportsmen who not only achieved big positions in sports but had also made India proud of them. The youth should greatly utilize their potential energy in the profound field of sports.
