Srisailam is a pilgrimage destination situated in the Nallamalai Hills of Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh. The place is famous for the Bhramaramba Mallikarjunaswamy Temple which is dedicated to Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy. Apart from being a religious destination, it also offers a great weekend vacation as the place is endowed with natural beauty.Srisailam is situated on the southern banks of the River Krishna at an altitude of 1500 ft. above sea level. The place has a huge religious significance as it is one of the Shaktipiths of India. The place sports the largest Tiger reserve in the country and this is also a major attraction for tourists. Being situated in the dense forest of Nallamalai Hills, The Srisailam Wildlife Sanctuary possesses Tigers, panthers, spotted deer, giant squirrels, pangolins, crocodiles, civets and different species of snakes. The Srisailam Dam is also a great tourist attraction.
