Western people, in fact I should say Britishers ruled over Indian land for more than 300 years and they have drained all the wealth of India and its people. It was earlier called the golden bird but nowadays the poverty has got its roots deep inside this land due to all those reasons. India achieved its independence in on 15th August, 1947 when the British officially handed over the reins to Indian people. Lord Robert Clive founded the rule more than 200 years ago and Lord Mountbatten became the last Viceroy of british India while the 1st Governor General of Free India.
 
The British Empire in India ruled over the Indian land for more than three hundred years and have drained all the wealth of india to their country. There are 4 main battles that the British won to establish their power in India namely the Battle of Plassey (1757), the Battle of Wandiwash (1760), the 3rd battle of Panipat (1761) and the Battle of Buxar (1764). But slowly and steadily due to the freedom for struggle fights india finally won independence and throw out British people from the country.
 
British ruled over us for more then 300 years.It changed the entire scenario from many aspects.It changed the indian scenario not only from the negative aspect but also in a positive way aswell.During the british rule many rigid and unecessary customs were eradicated which helped the society to rise up later.It made the indian society more liberal in its thinking introducing mass education.
 
India has been invaded several times and many rulers have ruled India. British rule was one of the longest rule in the history of India as they ruled for more than 300 years. There were many remarkable changes in Indian during their rule. They took away all the treasury, tortured the people however, finally with lot of struggle and sacrifices, India won its freedom from foreign rule.
 
India has been invaded many times by invaders from the middle-east and then came the Portuguese and finally the Britishers who reigned India for more than 300 years. India has been under foreign rule since quite a long time and finally in 1947 India got freedom and this is when the foreign rule came to an end. But left India in a very bad state to fight with all the odds and develop as a new Nation.
 
India got the freedom in 1947 and the last rulers were Britishers. They took a lot wealth from Indian. They took the right to call country golden bird. They tortured and oppressed the people. But besides it they also eradicate many disease of our society like sati pratha, child marriage, infanticide, illiteracy. They also established many universities for the indians. But they divided our country and left in a very bad state, to which we are fighting till now.
 
India is well known for its rich culture and heritage and this is evident from the presence of the historical monuments. The nation was ruled by many great Indian Dynasties but the nation was invaded for its richness in wealth as well as resources. The nation was first invaded by the Afghans and they followed by the Mughal ruler. Later Indian was invaded by the Portuguese and at last the nation was invaded and ruled for more than 300 years by the British. However, finally with the struggle and sacrifice of our freedom fighter, India gained freedom from the British rule and this was the end of Foreign rule in India.
