Tuensang is a town in the state of Nagaland which is the nerve center of the Tuensang district. It was an independent town but got merged into the Indian territory only in the year 1947. The town is situated at an altitude of 1,371 metres above the sea level. The town is inhabited by Sangtam, Khiamninugan, Chang and Yimchunger tribes of Nagaland and a rich and diverse culture of these tribes can be found in this place. The town has several sightseeing places which attracts a horde of tourists from in and around the state. Some of these include Changsangmongko Village, The Longtrok Village, known for six legendary stones that represent the ancient relics of the Tsongliyangti and Chungliyangti civilisations, Noklak village which is popular for ane work, artefacts and handicrafts. Noksan, Chare, Panso, Purorr, Sirire and Miu are some of the other villages in the district which are worth visiting.
