Vaishali is a major Buddhist and Jain pilgrimage destination situated in the state of Bihar. The place is well-known as it was the birthplace of Lord Mahavir. It is an ancient city and has mythological tales attached to it. The city finds its mention in the great Indian epic Mahabharata as well as in the scriptures of both Buddhist and Jain.
