Vaishno Devi is a major Hindu pilgrimage destination situated in the state of Jammu & Kashmir. It is situated at an altitude of 5200 feet above sea level and is situated in the mountains of the Himalayas. Millions of devotees from all over the world visits this place every year. Amid the beautiful landscape which is defined by the lush green valleys, hills, waterfalls, snow-capped mountains,it is the vicinity of Goddess Vaishno Devi, who is an incarnation of Goddess Parvati. It is one of the Shakti Piths and is situated in a narrow cave Tirkuta Hills. There are several mythological tales attrached to this place and is considered as one of the most pious places. The temple can be reached either on foot while trekking through the hills surrounding the area or or via helicopters. There are several other temples on the way to the Vaishno Devi Temple and these include Bhumika Temple, Kalika Temple, Shiva Goompha, and Ban Ganga Temple.
