Valley-of-flowers in the State of Uttarakand is one of the most popular tourist destinations of India. The valley is situated at an altitude of 3,600 metres above sea-level in the Himalayas and is one of the most coveted destinations for adventure lovers. It falls in the Chamoli district of the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. The valley is famous for flowers like Orchids, Poppies, Primulas, Marigold, Daisies and Anemonesand also has many mythological stories attached to it. The valley is rich in flora and fauna and a wide variety of wild animals like Snow Leopard, Musk Deer, Red Fox, Serow, Himalayan Black Bear and Pika are found here. It is also an adobe for birds like Pheasant, Himalayan Golden Eagle, Griffon Vulture, Snow Partridge, Himalayan Snowcock, Himalayan Monal, Snow Pigeon and Sparrow Hawk. The best time to visit the place is between July and October.
