Vijaywada is a prominent and the third largest city of Andhra Pradesh surrounded by the Budameru River on the north and the Indrakiladri Hills on the west. It is situate on the top of Krishna Delta. The city has several mythological stories attached to it. The major attractions of Vijayawada are temples like Kanaka Durga, Mangalagiri temple, Amravati, Gudivada, Ghantasala, etc. The Krishna Pushkaram is one of the most important and famous festivals celebrated after every 12 years. Apart from the temples, the city also has other tourists spots, which includes Prakasham Barrage, Gandhi Hill, Mogalarajapuram Caves, Victoria Museum, Hazarat Bal Mosque, Rajiv Gandhi Park, Gunadala Matha Shrine, and Bhavani Island. The Kondapalli Reserve Forest is also one of the major tourist attraction.
