Which sports should be given importance: hockey or cricket?

Which sport should be given importance and enough money to grow? Is it cricket or Hockey? I guess cricket is already a popular sport world wide, so Hockey should be given importance. Government and people should promote the national team and game as well.

Every sport has its own uniqueness. But when you are playing for the country then you should give more importance to the national game apart form those games which are already hyped and played well among people across the world. Well every player in national team are not only talented, they play their game with high desire. This is the thing which is happening with cricket. People are very familiar with this game; hence the jinx is following since many decades. Kapil devils won world cup in '83 and that created an inspiration in many Indians to lift world cup in cricket. So, if hockey creates such impact in their game, then definitely hockey can leave the craze of cricket behind. Still I think people should stress more on the national game.

Being the National game of India, hockey should be given more importance than cricket as cricket is already booming in India and is highly glorified. It is really sad that the national game has lost is past glory and is being neglected by everyone. Government should come up with providing better facilities to the Hockey players and media must encourage them to play well like cricket. More and more hockey matches should be organized to promote it.

Cricket is one of the most hyped games in India and is preached like a religion. However, in my opinion, Hockey should be given more importance than Cricket as it is the national game of Indian and moreover, it needs more attention and facilities than cricket in the present time. Media should focus on telecasting more of hockey matches than cricket because our national game is losing its glory.
