With the elections nearing, Government seems to have woken up. It has been witnessed that Government is incurring expenditure to please the people by repairing roads and drains, which they did not do in the past five years. They are promising people about quality work within a month. Is this just a way to get the votes of the people or they are really serious about their work? Will the government’s last-minute expenditure actually benefit people? What do you think?

In my view, it is just a way to gain people's sympathy and votes. These last minute expenditure are just a way to fool the people and gain their votes in the coming elections. However, this time it is not going to help them gain votes as people no longer have faith in the present government. Moreover, these ast-minute expenditure will in no-way benefit people because the quality of the work will not be good as it will be done in just a month. What do you think?
Last minute work is never as good as careful and thoughtful work. The last minute expenditure only fills in the pockets of the contractors ( for instance, in the case of road construction), who constructs cheap quality roads in short time. The authorities want the road to get laid in the stipulated time and the contractors get it done and in this case both the government authority and contractor are least bothered about the quality. Result? The road gets worn out in no time and we have to face the troubles due to potholes and broken roads.
I am sure the people of our nation are not fools and they are very much aware of the fact that the ongoing development work is just to gain votes. Thus these last minute expenditure is not going to be beneficial for the UPA Government in the upcoming election. These last minute expenditure is just a waste of money as well as time, furthermore, it is creating inconvenience for people. Moreover, these constructions and so-called development work are temporary.

Exactly! People are not fools to think that government's last minute action are for their actual good. I believe governments also should understand this and try doing some real good work when required. There has to be an accountability for everything. Government should try to come up with things done over their tenure and try to play their cards with those good deeds to gain their votes. I do not think its a good idea to do something in last minute and seek public support.
